Donegal County Council has prepared a Landscape Character Assessment, which also includes Seascape and Settlement Character Assessments that were carried out as parallel processes integral to the Landscape Character Assessment. The purpose of the Landscape Character Assessment is to classify and describe the landscape to provide an evidence base of the landscape’s components to assist in consistent decision making to achieve a balance between the protection, management and planning of the landscape in line with the National Landscape Strategy for Ireland 2015-2025.
